Proudly based in Cornwall, UK, and established in 2013, Global Mine Design Ltd (GMD) is a team of talented engineers and geoscientists with the goal of providing clients with a safe, responsible and economic mining strategy specific to site conditions. 

GMD provides a complete range of geotechnical and mine engineering consultancy services to operational mine sites and late-stage projects. GMD specialises in using geoscience data to characterise how ground conditions evolve during mining operations. Providing management assurance reviews and ongoing operational support, the team also guides safe working practices in high-stress and seismically active mining environments.

Understanding ground behaviour during production (using geotechnical mapping, deformation measurements, quantitative seismology, etc) enables GMD to identify and address potential operational challenges within a mine plan.  GMD’s analytical design skills produce mining strategies that increase operational effectiveness, achieve production goals, optimise long-term planning, and mitigate infrastructure risk.
