Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3)

The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) is a professional membership organisation and registered charity governed by a Royal Charter. Formed in 2002 from the merger of the Institute of Materials and the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy, it has roots in the Iron and Steel Institute of 1869.

IOM3 is a global leader in materials science, engineering, and technology, covering exploration, extraction, processing, application, recycling, and reuse. It supports professionals achieve chartered status through the Engineering Council, Science Council, and Society for the Environment. Membership provides access to technical and non-technical resources via webinars, podcasts, conferences, workshops, digital content, and library services.
