Teck sponsors Women in Mining UK as a Foundation Partner

Women in Mining UK (WIM UK) is pleased to announce a two-year Foundation Partnership with Teck Resources Limited (Teck), a leading Canadian mining company focused on responsibly providing metals essential for the energy transition and global development.

Teck has had a presence in London since 2022 and is working to promote dialogue on responsible mining in the UK. Both Teck and WIM UK are acutely aware of the positive impact a diverse and inclusive workplace can have, and this partnership will further encourage this within the mining sector.

Teck has a number of initiatives focused on inclusion and diversity within its workforce. Currently, 24% of Teck’s workforce is female, up from 12% in 2011. Through the partnership, WIM UK and Teck will collaborate on ways to further support gender diversity within the mining sector.

Founded in 2006, WIM UK advocates and speaks for women in the mining sector, informing industry participants and decision-makers of the challenges and opportunities women are finding in pursuing careers in mining companies and other mining-related businesses.
