Weir PLC announced that Brian Doffing has been appointed as President of its ESCO Division following Sean Fitzgerald’s recent retirement. Brian will join Weir on 28 September 2026 and become a member of the Group Executive.

Brian has over two decades of experience in the mining and industrials sectors with a proven track record of leading global technology-focused businesses. He joins from Alamo Group Inc., a global manufacturer of high-quality industrial and vegetation management equipment, where he is the Group Vice President, Excavators and Vacuum Trucks and leads a portfolio of businesses serving infrastructure and industrial markets. 

Brian previously spent eight years at Epiroc in a variety of senior roles including Global Vice President, OreBody Solutions, President, Greater China and President, Surface and Exploration Drilling Division. Brian also held senior management roles at Atlas Copco, the multinational industrials business headquartered in Sweden, prior to the split that created the Epiroc business.  

A US citizen, Brian has extensive international experience having worked in China and Sweden as well as Singapore and Peru. On joining Weir, he will be based in Portland, USA.

Brian Doffing biography

Brian Doffing will join Weir as President, ESCO Division on 28 September 2026 and brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the mining, engineering and heavy equipment sectors. He joins us from Alamo Group Inc. where he is the Group Vice President, Excavators and Vacuum Trucks. Prior to joining Alamo Group in 2025, Brian held several senior leadership positions with Epiroc, including Global Vice President, OreBody Solutions and President, Greater China. In these roles, he led international teams, expanded mining technology and drilling businesses, and played a key role in the integration and growth of product portfolios. He also previously held senior management roles with Atlas Copco, prior to the split out of Epiroc, and began his career as a mechanical engineer. Brian holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Finance and Strategy.
